A Two-Tone TimberTech Legacy Design

TimberTech Legacy Whitewash Cedar was selected for the main field boards. Its light, softly weathered appearance keeps this large deck feeling bright and comfortable in the sun. TimberTech Legacy Espresso was used for the perimeter picture frame, breaker boards, stair borders, and fascia details. The deeper brown adds definition and makes the geometry of the deck easy to appreciate from both the house and the yard.

The Espresso breaker boards provide more than visual contrast. They divide long runs of Whitewash Cedar into organized sections, help control the direction of the layout, and reduce the need for awkward end-to-end joints across the field. Key-Link cable railing was chosen to provide the security of a code-compliant guard while keeping the backyard visible. The slim horizontal cables recede into the view, and the dark posts coordinate with the Espresso accents. A drink rail top gives the railing a practical surface for a cup, phone, or small plate without taking up valuable deck space.

The capped surface of TimberTech Legacy decking is designed to resist moisture and staining while retaining its color with less routine work than traditional stained wood.
